The following is the entry for this language as it appeared in the 14th edition (2000).

Region Members of the ethnic group are also now in the USA, in Florida and New Jersey, in Puerto Rico, Santo Domingo, and Cuba.
Classification Arawakan, Maipuran, Northern Maipuran, Caribbean.
Comments They are bilingual in Spanish or English. The ethnic group now speak Spanish, or a Spanish-Taino mixed language, not understood by Spanish speakers. They estimate their present language to be 55% Taino and 45% Spanish. Extinct.
