Population 8 (1986 R. Breton). 
Region Furu-Awa and Furu-Nangwa villages, Furu-Awa Subdivision, Menchum Division, North West Province.
Alternate names   AWA, FURU
Classification Niger-Congo, Atlantic-Congo, Volta-Congo, Benue-Congo, Bantoid, Unclassified.
Comments May be Jukunoid. 10% lexical similarity with Jukun languages, 7% to 8% with Beboid languages. Only used by older people for reunions. Children learn only Jukun. People are called 'Furu', and now speak Jukun. Formerly called 'Awa.' Mountain slope. Nearly extinct.
