Population 1,500 (1996 Oesten Dahl). 
Region Upper Dalecarlia (Oevre Dalarna), especially Aelvdalen (Elfdal).
Alternate names   DALSKA, DALMAAL
Classification Indo-European, Germanic, North, East Scandinavian, Danish-Swedish, Swedish.
Comments Quite deviant from other varieties. Various dialects, some of which are reported to be unintelligible to each others' speakers. Bilingualism in Swedish.
