Classification Afro-Asiatic, Omotic, North, Mao, West.
Comments Related to Hozo-Sezo, but a separate language (Ruhlen 1987.322). 14% lexical similarity with Omotic languages; 6% with Mao. Oromo-Wellega is the lingua franca of the area, but possibly not for Ganza. Different from Gumuz. SOV. Nearly extinct.
