Population 539 speakers in the USA, including 6 monolinguals (1990 census). Population total both countries 850.
Region Northeastern Kansas: Horton; central Oklahoma: McCloud, Jones; Texas: Nuevo Nacimiento. 6 hours by automobile between Kansas and Oklahoma locations, 10 hours to Texas, 3 hours to Mexico location. Also spoken in Mexico.

Classification Algic, Algonquian, Central.
Comments Possibly intelligible with Sac and Fox (Mesquakie). In Oklahoma some younger people prefer English, and in Kansas most or all speakers are middle-aged or over. Dictionary.
