Population 20 to 30 fluent speakers, 200 to 300 know and understand the language but prefer English (1991 Wayne Rosendale), 400 in the ethnic group (1990 Schmidt).

Comments Bilingualism in English. Children understand Guguyimidjir, but speak only speak a little, and mainly speak Aboriginal English. Bible portions 1940.
