Population 150 (1986 SIL) out of an ethnic group of 1,500 (1995 SIL). The Pirahã are small, the Múra larger. 
Region Amazonas, along the Maici and Autaces rivers.

Classification Mura.
Comments Probably related to Matanawi, which is extinct. The Múra are mostly integrated into Portuguese. The Pirahã are quite monolingual. Semi nomadic. Grammar. SOV. Tropical forest. Riverine. Hunter-gatherers. 40 to 120 feet. Bible portions 1987.
