Population 4,350 (1998 B. Hopkins SIL). 
Region Mainly in Mlomp village north of the Casamance River, 25 km. due east of Bignona, on the road between Tendouck and Tiobon, Bignona Department, several surrounding villages, and scattered around the country.

Classification Niger-Congo, Atlantic-Congo, Atlantic, Northern, Bak, Jola, Jola Proper, Karon-Mlomp.
Comments 64% lexical similarity with Karon (closest), 42% between Karon-Mlomp and the closest other Jola language. Many speak and understand Jola-Fogny as second language, some know Wolof, and a few may know Mandinka or Pulaar. Investigation needed: intelligibility, bilingual proficiency. Literacy rate in first language: Below 1%.
