Population 70,000 (1987). 
Region Between the Bubu and Mponde rivers, Kondoa District.

Classification Khoisan, Sandawe.
Comments Monogamists. They have intermarried with the Gogo, Turu, and Maasai. People have limited understanding of other languages. SOV. Hunter-gatherers, fishermen, agriculturalists, pastoralists: cattle. Traditional religion, Christian, Muslim.
