Population 2,255 (1993 census). 
Region South, Moyen-Chari Prefecture, Sarh Subprefecture, in Sarh and about three small villages north of Sarh.
Alternate names   TOUNIA, TUNYA, TUN
Dialects TUNYA, PERIM.
Classification Niger-Congo, Atlantic-Congo, Volta-Congo, North, Adamawa-Ubangi, Adamawa, Mbum-Day, Bua.
Comments Not intelligible with other Bua languages. 25% are bilingual in Niellim, others in Sara (the majority, but with low proficiency), Chadian Arabic, or French. Perim dialect is extinct. Traditional religion, Christian.
