Region  North West Province, Menchum Division, Furu-Awa Subdivision, Furu-Awa and Furu-Nangwa villages.
Alternate names   Awa, Furu
Dialects  Reportedly in Furu subgroup (2000 B. Connell). May be Jukunoid. Lexical similarity: 10% with Jukun languages, 7%–8% with Beboid languages.

Language use  Older adults at reunions. Also use Jukun [jbu].
Comments  People are called ‘Furu’, and now speak Jukun. Formerly called ‘Awa’. Nearly extinct.
