Task 2. Navigating to the Lexical Database with Workshop Explorer
Learning objective
Given a defined language project in LinguaLinks Workshops, you will learn to find and open the Lexical Database for the project.
Preparation
To prepare for this task, start LinguaLinks Workshops.
Using the Workshop Explorer
1. In Workshop Explorer, go to Projects, click 
,
and select EGA-English, American.
2. Go to Workshops and select Linguistics…Lexicon.
3. Go to Data and double-click English Lexical Database.
Result: Opens the Lexical Database Editor. The status bar at the bottom left indicates which entry you have open out of the total number of entries
Using the Lexical Database Editor
1. On the toolbar, click 
to
go back and 
to
move forward.
2. On the toolbar, click 
to
search for an entry.
)
3. In the Search window, select child.
4. Close the Search window (or move it out of the way).
5. Expand the Entry window and look at the fields being used.
6. Look at the available menu items.
