Task 43. Creating an Occurrence Filter
Learning objective
You will learn that an Occurrence Filter can help you find particular types of Entries, or Senses that have/do not have some data in particular fields such as Baseforms, Annotations, Tags, Definitions, Examples, Lexical Relations, and POS.
Preparation
Open the English Lexical Database.
Adding a new Occurrence Filter
1. On the menu, click Go…Filter.
2. In Filters, click
,
select Occurrence, and click
.
Editing a new Occurrence Filter
1. Click
.
2. In the Occurrence Filter Editor, for Name of Filter, type Empty Glosses.
3. For Abbreviation, type no GL.
4. Go to "Show entries where at least one sense" and select has nothing.
5. For "in," click
,
select Gloss, and click OK.
Activating a new Occurrence Filter
1. In Select Filter to Use, click OK.
Result: Shows the status in red on the bottom status bar (four entries have missing glosses in the English Lexical Database).
