Publications in Linguistics, previously published jointly by SIL International and the University of Texas at Arlington, is a venue for works covering a broad range of topics in linguistics, especially the analytical treatment of minority languages from all parts of the world. While most volumes are authored by members of SIL International, suitable works by others also occasionally form part of the series.

Publications in Language Use and Education is a serial publication of SIL International. The series began as Publications in Sociolinguistics, a venue for works covering a broad range of topics in sociolinguistics, and has been expanded to include topics in mother tongue literacy, multilingual education, educational anthropology, and a variety of other issues and topics related to language and education.

Publications in Translation and Textlinguistics is a peer-reviewed series published by SIL International. The series is a venue for works concerned with all aspects of translation and textlinguistics, including translation theory, exegesis, pragmatics, and discourse analysis.

Mon-Khmer Studies

Mon-Khmer Studies is a journal devoted to the study of Southeast Asian languages, especially those of the Mon-Khmer family, though other minority Southeast Asian languages are occasionally presented. Topics of articles may include linguistic description, comparison, bibliography, historical development, sociolinguistics, stylistics, orthographies, or paleographic aspects.



Journal of Translation

The Journal of Translation (JoT) is an online, peer-reviewed journal of translation theory and practice. This journal aims to publish articles reflecting recent trends in translation theory and practice, including but not limited to exegesis, communication, text-linguistics, and cognitive linguistics.


Journal of Translation and Textlinguistics

The Journal of Translation and Textlinguistics has discontinued publication in 2003. SIL International published it for those interested in studies in translation. In 2005, SIL launched Journal of Translation, an online, peer-reviewed journal of translation theory and practice..


Notes on...journals

The Notes on...journals have discontinued publication. The back issues of Notes on... are published in the LinguaLinks Library 5.0 product, a digital resources DVD.

Notes on Anthropology, formerly Notes on Anthropology and Intercultural Community Work, was a forum to share culturally related information of practical, theoretical, or general interest.

Notes on Linguistics was designed to share information of practical, theoretical, administrative, or general interest. It was specifically intended to provide linguistic field workers with news, reviews, announcements, and articles that stimulated interest in linguistics and helped them to stay current.

Notes on Literacy served field literacy programs by sharing information of a practical and theoretical nature with literacy field workers.

Notes on Sociolinguistics provided a forum for discussion by SIL members and others engaged in similar work in any area of sociolinguistics and its application to language development and Bible translation.

Notes on Translation contained helpful articles about translation theory and procedure, various topics relating to translation or exegesis, and book reviews.
