Population total all countries: 1,202,000. 80,000 monolinguals. Ethnic population: 1,000,000. L2 users: Most immigrants in Cape Verde tend to learn Kabuverdianu, in order to interact effectively with all segments of society, especially those involved in business, including a large population of Chinese.
