Summary
Micronesia is a territory in the Pacific that is home to 115,000 people. It is also home to 17 living indigenous languages. Some of these—Chuukese, Kosraean, Pohnpeian, and Yapese—are official languages. In addition, 1 non-indigenous language, English, is established within the territory. It is the official language. In formal education, 4 indigenous languages are used as languages of instruction.
