8b (Nearly extinct).
Language Use
8 elders in the city speak either Kuruaya or Xipaya [xiy]. Shifted to Portuguese [por]. Elderly speakers. People in Cajueiro village speak Portuguese [por] and only know a few words of their mother tongue (Crevels 2007).
