35 (Voorhoeve and Visser 1987). In 1987, there were a few elderly speakers but it is now probably extinct (Wurm 2007). Ethnic population: 50 (1984).

Location

North Maluku, north Halmahera island, Ibu river mouth, Gamlamo and Gamici villages.

Language Status

8b (Nearly extinct).

Dialects

None known. May be inherently intelligible with Sahu [saj].

Language Use

Mainly older adults (1987).
