25 (2010 census), decreasing. Some monolinguals. Ethnic population: 2,000 (1997 M. Krauss).

Location

Kamchatka District, northeast Kamchatka peninsula, Vyvenka and Khailino villages; 2 families in Rekinniki; some in Tilichiki and Tymlat; some scattered.

Alutorskij (Alutor Proper). Considered a dialect of Koryak [kpy] until recently.

Language Use

Shifting to Russian [rus]. Home. Actively used by older adults; middle-aged adults are passive bilinguals; younger than 35 use only Russian [rus] (1997).
