The Basa Language of Nigeria

The Bassa language is spoken widely in Central Nigeria, Apart from Kogi State which has been mentioned in this edition, Bassa has over 100,000 speakers in Nasarawa State. Between Niger State and the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, there should be another 100,000 speakers. The Bible has been translated into Bassa and there is a Bassa Primer. The JESUS film has also been produced in Bassa. The Bassa language is well written and a major work on Bassa history is in the press.
