Equateur Province, widespread along both sides of the Congo River, Mongala district and adjacent parts of Sud Ubangi and Equateur districts; Binja in Orientale Province, Aketi territory.

Dialects

Binja (Binza, Libindja, Libinja), Doko, Wiindza-Baali. Similar to Bwela [bwl] (Lingi) and Bale [bcp]. Lexical similarity: 78% between standardized Ngombe and the Binja dialect; 40% with Lingala [lin], Pagibete [pae], and Ngelima [agh]; 37% with Bwa [bww].
