Location

Nuristan Province, Prasun (Parun) valley on upper reaches of Pech river, Shupu (Ishtivi, Shtevgrom), Sech, Ucu, Ushut, Zumu villages.

Dialects

Central Prasun, Lower Prasun (Pashki, Ushut), Upper Wasi-Weri (Ishtivi). Related to Kati [bsh] but more archaic. The most aberrant Nuristani language. No mutual intelligibility of other Nuristani languages.

All domains. All ages. Positive attitudes. Traditionally bilingual with Dari [prs] but now increasingly with Pashto [pbt].
