Ancash Region, Sihuas province, districts west of Sihuas river; north of Rupac river, south Quiches, Alfonso Ugarte, Huayllabamba, Sihuas, and west Ragash.

None known. Most closely related to Northern Conchucos [qxn] and Corongo Quechua [qwa]. Initial intelligibility testing shows marginal intelligibility of Corongo Quechua [qwa]. Intelligibility of Northern Conchucos [qxn] appears lower. A member of macrolanguage Quechua [que].

Language Use

Rural daily life primarily among women over 40. Mainly older adults. 3,500 also use Spanish [spa].
