Task 40. Working with the Compare Related Senses tool
Learning objective
You will learn to use the Compare Related Senses tool to develop maximally contrastive definitions for related Senses of any entry (only works at Sense level—not within a Sense Group or overall Entry level).
The tool helps compare definitions of any Sense that has Thesaurus or Lexical Relation Set links to other Senses. It may show gaps in Sets and Thesaurus categories by comparing the linking to all Senses in any particular set or category. It may give ideas to add other members to the set of Related Senses. It may show new links needed for a Thesaurus category, other categories needing correction, new links needed for a Lexical Relation set, or other sets needing correction.
