Task 42. Creating an Authority Filter

You will learn that an Authority Filter can help you find or exclude all entries within a certain Authority List category.

Open the English Lexical Database.

1. On the menu, click Go…Filter.

2. In Filters, click , select Authority, and click .

2. In the Authority Filter Editor, for Name of Filter, type Conjunctions.

3. For Abbreviation, type Conj, and click OK.

Tip: Do not do it now, but if you need to filter all entries but a particular category, select the Not (Exclude) box.

4. For AuthorityList, click and select Parts Of Speech.

5. In the list, select conjunction.

6. Above the AuthorityList, make sure "Reference to:" is conjunction, and click OK.

1. In Filters, click OK.

Results: Shows the status in red on the bottom status bar (two conjunctions are in the English Lexical Database).
