Region  Southern Highlands Province, into Western Province, Mt. Bosavi north and west slopes.

Dialects  Ologo, Kaluli, Walulu, Kugenesi. No significant dialect differences. Similar to but different from Kasua [khs].

Language development  Literacy rate in L1: 5%. Literacy rate in L2: 10%. Bible portions: 1997–1998.
Writing system  Latin script.
Comments  ‘Bosavi’ is a geographic name. SOV; prepositions; articles, adjectives, numerals after noun heads; question word initial; 1–4 prefixes; word order important; affixes indicate case; verb affixes mark person; ergativity; CV, CVC, CVV; tonal. Swidden agriculturalists. Traditional religion, Christian.
