A language of Democratic Republic of the Congo

Population  20,000 (1983 census).
Region  Equateur Province, Sud Ubangi, Kungu Territory, Mwanda Collectivité, Ngiri River upper reaches between Limpoko and Sombe villages: Moniongo, Libobi, Likata, Mondongo, Lifunga, Bomole, Lokutu, Botunia villages.
Language map  Northern Democratic Republic of Congo
Dialects  All village dialects are mutually intelligible. Similar to Dzando [dzn], Ndolo [ndl].
Classification  Niger-Congo, Atlantic-Congo, Volta-Congo, Benue-Congo, Bantoid, Southern, Narrow Bantu, Northwest, C, Bangi-Ntomba (C.40)
Language use  Most also use Lingala [lin], except oldest women. Many women speak only market Lingala.
Language development  Literacy rate in L2: 30%–50% in Lingala.
