Population  2,000 (1998), decreasing. Ethnic population: 7,383 (2001 census).
Region  Gandaki zone, North Gorkha District, Takhu village up the Doraundi Khola, east side above Chorgate, near Kumhali, about 7 villages. May be in Dhading District.

Language use  Shifting to Nepali [nep]. Used orally in some business and labor relations. Mainly older adults.

OV (Subject position varies); postpositions; genitives, articles, adjectives, numerals before noun heads; maximum number of suffixes 3; word order does not distinguish subjects, objects, or indirect objects; affixes indicate case of noun phrase; verb affixes mark person, number—obligatory; ergative; passives, causatives, comparatives; simple syllable patterns; nontonal. Peasant agriculturalists. Traditional religion, Hindu.
