Population	1,500 (1991 SIL). 1,350 monolinguals.
Region	Jayapura and Yapen Waropen regencies. Lake Holmes area near mid-Mamberamo River; Danau Bira area, northeast, Kasonoweja north of Kustera; Mamberamo Tengah and Waropen Atas subdistricts, Vakiadi, Noiadi, Danau Bira, Solom, Kustera, Neao, Itaba villages.

Language development	Literacy rate in L1: 10%–25%. 230 can read and write it. Bible portions: 1985–1994.
Writing system	Latin script.
Comments	Whistle speech reported. Agriculturalists: bananas, papaya. Christian, traditional religion.
