Region  Ayeyawaddy (Irrawaddy) River, lowlands. Also in Bangladesh.
Alternate names   Asho, Ashu, Khyang, Kyang, Qin, Sho, Shoa
Dialects  Thayetmyo (Thayetmo), Minbu, Lemyo, Khyang. Similar to Saingbaung Chin. Also related to Shendu [shl] and Chinbon [cnb]. Lemyo, Thayetmo, Minbu, and Khyang dialects may be separate languages.
Classification  Sino-Tibetan, Tibeto-Burman, Kuki-Chin-Naga, Kuki-Chin, Southern, Sho
Language use  Also use Burmese [mya].
Language development  NT: 1954.
Writing system  Myanmar (Burmese) script.
