Alternate names   “Costanoan”
Dialects  Monterey, Mutsun (San Juan Bautista), Rumsen (Runsien, San Carlos, Carmel).
Classification  Penutian, Yok-Utian, Utian, Costanoan
Language use  Became extinct in the 1950s. Revitalization work in progress with all ages attending workshops in the language; many consider themselves speakers because they can carry on conversations in the language.
