Region  Ouaddaï region, Sila Department, canton Fongoro; Dar Fongoro region along Sudan border south of Mongororo and the Sinyar, rather inaccessible.

Language use  Shifting to Fur [fvr]. Older adult speakers may remain and others living in isolated places. No remaining speakers in Sudan.
Comments  The tse-tse fly is a problem in the area. Hunter-gatherers: honey, hides; fishermen: dried fish.
