A language of Cameroon

Population  7,000 (2001 SIL).
Region  Far North Province, Mayo-Tsanaga Division, Mokolo Subdivision, Mogode Canton, Gawar area, south of Mokolo. One group of Gavar Hossere lives among Gavar-Fulfulde, and another isolated in mountains around Kortchi village.

Dialects  Lexical similarity: 90% with Buwal [bhs].

Language use  The Gavar Hossere speak Gavar; the Gavar Fulfulde speak Fulfulde [fub]. Home, village. Some also use French, Mofu-Gudur [mif], Mafa [maf], or Daba [dbq].
Comments  Agriculturalists. Traditional religion, Christian.
