Population  295,000 (1991 census).
Region  Himachal Pradesh, Bilaspur District.
Alternate names   Bilaspuri Pahari, Kahluri, Kehloori Pahari, Kehluri, Pacchmi
Dialects  95% intelligibility with Mandeali [mjl], 94% with Kangri [xnr]. Lexical similarity: 90% with Kangri of Palampur, 86% with Mandeali, 84% with Chambeali [cdh].
Classification  Indo-European, Indo-Iranian, Indo-Aryan, Northern zone, Western Pahari
Language use  Home, community, agriculture, religion. All ages. Hindi is used for instruction in school and politics. Middleaged and older women have limited comprehension of Hindi. Some speak Panjabi as L2. Urdu is also spoken by middle- aged and older educated people.
Language development  Radio programs.
Comments  ‘Kahluri’ is based on the old name for the princely state. SOV. Agriculturalists: rice, maize, millet. Hindu.
