Region  Manipur, Senapati District, Phaijol, Laikot, Thuisenpai villages, Kharam Pallen village.
Alternate names   Duisalongmei, Thinglong
Dialects  Lexical similarity: 71%–73% with Purum [pub], 58%–60% with Kom [kmm], 64% with Koireng [nkd].
Classification  Sino-Tibetan, Tibeto-Burman, Kuki-Chin-Naga, Kuki-Chin, Northern
Language use  All ages. Would not use materials written in Purum. Also use Meitei [mni] or Purum [pub].
Language development  Literacy rate in L2: 30% Meitei, English, Hindi. Most 5- to 20-year-olds have learned to read in school. Older people would like to learn to read.
Writing system  Latin script.
