Population  5,300 (1983).
Region  Southern hills east of Taungoo in Kayin (Karen) state.
Alternate names   Mogpha, Mogwa, Monebwa, Monnepwa, Mopaga, Mopha, Mopwa, Pagu, Paku, Thalwepwe
Dialects  Bilichi, Dermuha, Paku, Mopwa. Similar to S’gaw [ksw]. Some reports indicate the Paku and Mopwa dialects are separate languages.
Classification  Sino-Tibetan, Tibeto-Burman, Karen, Sgaw-Bghai, Sgaw
Writing system  Myanmar (Burmese) script.
