Population  16,600 (1983).
Region  Southwestern Kayah state.
Alternate names   Bre, “Brec” , “Kayaw Brek” , Laku, Pramano, Pre
Dialects  Reportedly Kayaw who want to talk with Bwe [bwe] use Sgaw Karen [ksw].
Classification  Sino-Tibetan, Tibeto-Burman, Karen, Sgaw-Bghai, Brek
Writing system  Latin script.
Comments  ‘Brek’ and ‘Bwe’ are variant names of a dialect subgrouping that extends from southwest Kayah state to northeast Karen state. See also Karen, Bwe [bwe]. ‘Brek’ or ‘Bre’ usually refers to varieties in Kayah state. Christian.
