Region  South Maluku, north Aru Islands, widespread on Kola Island coast, adjacent islands. 22 villages.

Dialects  Intelligibility test showed Marlasi dialect intelligible to Kompane [kvp]. Lexical similarity: 77% with Kompane, 70% with Ujir [udj].
Classification  Austronesian, Malayo-Polynesian, Central-Eastern, Central Malayo-Polynesian, Aru
Language use  Vigorous. Outsiders want to learn it.
