Population  3,750 (2007), decreasing.
Region  Koshi zone, middle Sankhuwasabha District, between middle Arun Valley and the Sabhakhola.
Language map  Eastern Nepal, reference number 77
Alternate names   Lohorong, Lohrung, Lohrung Khanawa
Dialects  Biksit (Bikshi). A Rai group. Related to Yamphu [ybi], Yamphe [yma], Southern Lorung [lrr], and Yakha [ybh]. Ethnic subgroups are Kipa and Loke Lorung, but they do not appear to speak different dialects.
Classification  Sino-Tibetan, Tibeto-Burman, Himalayish, Mahakiranti, Kiranti, Eastern
Language use  Medium or high degree of retention of L1 assumed, in all areas except Biksit (Winter 1991).
Comments  Agriculturalists; pastoralists. Hindu, traditional religion.
