Region  Southwest near Cameroon border, Mayo-Kebbi Ouest region, Lamé home of Chef de Canton, and administrative center. Also in Cameroon.

Dialects  Lamé, Doe (Doué), Dari. Related to Herdé [hed] and Ngeté [nnn] with differences in phonology, grammar, and ethnic attitudes.

Language development  NT: 1986.
Comments  Different from Lame [bma] of Nigeria. ‘Zime’ is used by outsiders to refer to Herdé, Ngeté, Pévé [lme], and Mesmé [zim].
