Population  400,000 (1995).
Region  Equateur Province south half, northeast Bandundu Province.

Alternate names   Lomongo, Mongo
Dialects  Mpama, Wangata, Panga (Ipanga, Titu, Buli, South Nkundo), Bukala (Kala), Yalima (Yajima), Kutu (Bakutu), Ekonda Mongo (Lomongo), Longo (Bolongo), Nkundo (Nkundu, Lonkundu, Lonkundo, Lolo), Ntomba-Inongo, Ntomba-Bikoro, Konda (Ekonda, Lokonda, Lokwala), Longombe. Dialect or language subgroup: Lalia [lal], Mongo-Nkundu, Ngando, Ombo [oml]. The Longombe dialect, spoken along the road between Boende and Wema, is most similar to the Bakutu dialect. The dialects Ntomba-Inongo, Ntomba-Bikoro, and Konda may be separate languages. Konda is in Equateur Province, Equateur District, Mai-Ndombe District, Kiri Territory. In Mbandaka, Call their dialect ‘Lonkundo’.
