Population  45,000 (1991 SIL).
Region  East Province. Menzime and Bangantu are in Kadey Division, Mbang Subdivision, south of Batouri; others in Boumba-and-Ngoko Division, south and west of Yokadouma.

Alternate names   Bombo, Mbombo, Mpompo, Mpopo, Pongpong
Dialects  Mbobyeng (Pobyeng), Menzime (Medzime, Mezime, Mendzime), Bageto (Baagato, Bangantu, Northern Bangantu), Kunabembe (Konabembe, Nkumabem, Kunabeeb, Konabem), Mpomam (Boman, Mboman).

Language use  A few also use Ewondo [ewo].
