Region  Mbeya region, 40 km southwest of Mbeya town. South of Safwa [sbk], north of Ndali [ndh], west of Nyakyusa [nyy], east of Nyiha [nih].

Language use  Vigorous. Speakers of other languages moving into the area learn Malila. Used in most domains including church and politics. All ages. Positive attitude. Some also use some Swahili [swh].
Comments  Agriculturalists: maize, potatoes, sweet potatoes, peas, beans, millet, and some wheat. Cash crops include coffee and pyrethrum. Christian, traditional religion.
