Population  209,000 in Chad (2006). Population total all countries: 229,000.
Region  Mayo-Kebbi Est region, Kabbia and Mont d’Illi departments (Gounou Gaya, Fianga) and Tandjilé region, Tandjile Ouest Department (Kélo). Gounou Gaya is commercial and administrative center. Also in Cameroon.

Dialects  Bongor-Jodo-Tagal-Berem-Gunu, Pe-Holom-Gamé, Jaraw-Domo, Lew. Some intelligibility with Masana [mcn]. Marba [mpg] (Azumeina) is most similar linguistically. The Lew dialect is most similar to Marba. All dialects mutually intelligible. Dialect names are village names. The Pe dialect is in Cameroon.

Language use  Kera [ker] and other nearby groups are bilingual in Musey.
