Region  Western San Marcos Department; rural areas west of the town of Tacaná, western Guatemala border, and in Sibinal and Tectitán. Also in Mexico.

Alternate names   Mamé, Tacaná Mam, Tiló, Western Mam
Dialects  The most distinctive of all the Mam varieties.
Classification  Mayan, Quichean-Mamean, Greater Mamean, Mamean
Language use  Shifting to Spanish. Mainly adults.
Language development  Literacy rate in L2: 25%.
Comments  VSO. Agriculturalists: maize, beans, potatoes, cabbage, wheat.
