Population  191,000 in Chad (2006). Population total all countries: 235,700.
Region  Mayo-Kebbi Ouest region, Lac Léré and Mayo-Dallah departments (Léré, Pala), Mayo Kebbi Est region, Mont d’Illi Department (Fianga). Also in Cameroon.
Language map  Southwestern Chad, reference number 86
Alternate names   Kaele, Moundan, Moundang, Nda
Dialects  Kabi, Zasing (Yasing). A subdialect of Kabi is Kiziere, of Zasing is Torrock-Kaélé.
Classification  Niger-Congo, Atlantic-Congo, Volta-Congo, North, Adamawa-Ubangi, Adamawa, Mbum-Day, Mbum, Northern, Tupuri-Mambai
Language development  Primers for CP 1 and CP 2 by gtz-Education. ELN and PARSET. Taught in primary schools. Bible: 1983.
Writing system  Latin script.

Region  Far North Province, Kaele Division, Kaele Subdivision, near Chad border north and west of Kaele; North Province, Benoue Division, south of Mayo-Kebi near Chad border.

Alternate names  Kaele, Marhay, Moundan, Moundang, Musemban, Nda
Dialects  Kiziere, Imbana (Bana, Mbana, Imbara), Zasing (Yassing, Djasing, Yasing, Jasing, Zazing), Gelama.
Comments  The Gelama dialect may be a separate language. Traditional religion, Christian.
