Population  6,000 in Cameroon (Tourneux 2004).
Region  Far North Province, Logone-and-Chari Division, Chari River area, Goulfey and Goulfey Subdivision, north of Kousseri. Also in Chad.

Dialects  Malgbe (Goulfei), Mara, Dro, Douguia (Dugiya). Related to Afade [aal], Maslam [msv], Mpade [mpi], Mser [kqx], Lagwan [kot].

Comments  ‘Mandage’ is used by the Kotoko to refer to either the northern group of Kotoko languages (Mpade, Afade, Maslam, Malgbe) or the Kotoko group as a whole (including Mser and Lagwan). Muslim.
