A language of Democratic Republic of the Congo

Population  150,000 (Welmers 1971).
Region  Equateur Province, widespread along both sides of Congo River, Mongala District and adjacent parts of Sud Ubangi and Equateur districts; Binja in Orientale Province, Aketi Territory.

Alternate names   Lingombe
Dialects  Binja (Binza, Libindja, Libinja), Wiindza-Baali, Doko. Similar to Bwela [bwl] (Lingi), Bale [bcp]. The Ngombe group is sometimes called Bantu C.40. Lexical similarity: 78% between standard Ngombe and the Binja dialect, 40% with Lingala [lin], Pagibete [pae], and Ngelima [agh], 37% with Bwa [bww].
