Population  5,160 (1993 census). 1,000 in the city of Sarh and 400 in Niou dialect.
Region  Moyen-Chari region, Barh Kôh Department, Niellim town area, southwest bank of Chari River; Niou in Niou on the northeast bank.

Alternate names   Lua, Mjillem, Nielim, Nyilem
Dialects  Niellim, Tchini (Cuni, Cini), Niou.
Classification  Niger-Congo, Atlantic-Congo, Volta-Congo, North, Adamawa-Ubangi, Adamawa, Mbum-Day, Bua
Language use  Tchini dialect is extinct.
Comments  The government calls them ‘Niellim’. Their own name is ‘Lua’. Traditional religion.
