Population  10,500 (1999 J. Wilson).
Region  Central highlands area south of Angguruk, east of Soba, west of Korupun, Ninia, Holuwon, and Lolat villages; Elelim, transmigrated by government in 1989 following earthquake. More than 50 villages.

Dialects  Different from Yali of Pass Valley [yac], Yali of Angguruk [yli], Hupla [hap].

Language development  Literacy rate in L1: 20%–25%. Literacy rate in L2: 15%–20%. Approximately 10% read haltingly. Bible: 2000.
